Our residential program, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, runs for a total of eight weeks. The primary objective for each resident is spiritual regeneration resulting in permanent sobriety. We believe that only upon developing an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ can a man be liberated from his dependency, so our program is designed for men who desire sobriety but have made unsuccessful attempts. At Elim Home we build upon the principle in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” We offer spiritual recovery by means of regular Bible readings, group meetings, group and individual counseling, Scripture memorization and public worship services at Thomas Road Baptist Church.

The program at Elim is free of charge. Each man is provided a comfortable room, good food, laundry service and linens. A work program involving approximately four hours of work each weekday is a vital part of the recovery process. This program consists of general handiwork, maintenance and food service.  Our purpose is to provide a place of protection and care for the men as they discover the way to a new life. Thousands of men from all walks of life have found their way to Elim and walk away with a better understanding of who Christ is in their lives.
